Here at Faith United Church, we understand our Sunday worship service to be an opportunity for all believers to gather in God's presence to hear God's word.
All that we do in worship centers around the scripture for the day-the prayers, the music, and the sermon all touch on the chosen Bible reading so that we might more clearly hear God's voice in our midst.
We believe that we are all related to one another through the Spirit of Christ so our worship time serves as a "family gathering" where we celebrate the peace of God and where we share our joys and concerns with one another.
Music plays a crucially important role in our worship here at Faith
United Church. We have an outstanding Chancel
Choir, an exuberant Youth Choir, an inspirational
Adult Bell Choir and a wonderful Youth Bell
Choir. Whether it's Handel's Messiah or the Youth Choir's hip hop rendition of Swing Low Sweet Chariot, the music in our worship services lifts our spirits and inspires us as we face the challenges of the coming week.
During the second hymn of the worship service children and youth leave the sanctuary and go to their
Sunday School classes. For toddlers and infants too young to attend Sunday school, childcare and activities are provided in our Nursery/Tot Room.
For those parents who might wish to keep their infant or toddler with them in worship, be assured that children and the sounds of children are always welcome!
We know, however, that occasionally parents become uncomfortable if their child becomes extremely fussy or unhappy during worship services.
Aside from our staffed Nursery/Tot Room downstairs there is a "Comforting Room" available at the rear of the sanctuary with a speaker in it so you can still hear the service.
Don't feel uncomfortable if you need to walk your child in the back of the sanctuary or take advantage of the Comforting Room.
Also, visiting children and youth 3 years and older are welcome to participate in our Christian Education Classes.
Above all, we offer worship that is welcoming to all who come through our doors so that together we might share the joy, peace and love that God gives freely to each one of us.
