The Chancel Choir meets every Thursday at 7 p.m. for rehearsal, and every Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. to rehearse for the service of worship, which begins at 10:30 a.m.
The Chancel Choir is musically excellent and a very welcoming and friendly group.
It is comprised of both outstanding singers and folks who simply enjoy singing.
Each section (soprano, alto, tenor, & bass) is led by a paid soloist/section leader.
This allows the choir to learn music much faster, perform more challenging choral arrangements, and to perform more often than just Sunday morning.
The Chancel Choir is very fortunate to have two fine musicians leading the music program,
a separate
Choirmaster and Organist.
This allows the Choirmaster to concentrate on the choir, and the organist to focus on the organ.
The end result is a much more cohesive and professional product.
Faith United Church is also very fortunate to have a recently installed (2001) Rodgers/Southfield combination organ - an instrument possessing a full digital organ, MIDI capability, and 8 ranks of pipes.
