Tuesday Morning Bible Class

Faith United Church offers an enriching Adult Bible Class on Tuesday mornings from October thru May at 9:30 a.m.  This class focuses on the scriptures for the coming Sunday, so that those who participate have an opportunity to reflect more deeply on the Bible passages prior to worship.

We generally follow the Revised Common Lectionary, a three-year cycle of scriptures designated for each Sunday, which includes a passage from the Old Testament, a Psalm, one of the letters from the New Testament, and a passage from the gospel describing the life and ministry of Jesus Christ.

We have a lot of fun in class—we laugh,  we engage in lively discussions, and we all feel an enthusiasm for “digging under the surface” of the scriptures that serve as the center of worship for the coming Sunday.  I always feel better when I come away from this experience.
